My social media strategy

I find myself spread very thinly across all the different social media sites. There are simply not enough hours in the day to keep up. So for now I've decided on the following strategy:

Google + is my new social media hub (home) where I publish photo stories, images and news.

My photographic portfolio, about me and the centre of my online universe is www.indigo2photography.co.uk

My blog, which you're reading now is where I write my more indepth views on life and photography.

Twitter is good place to catch up with what I am posting and sharing at that moment

My Facebook page is the place where I'll post links that interest me and I want to share.

I am aware this strategy is tricky because the golden rule of social media is to go where your audience is, so I may have to review this.

Easy access to the Internet and digital photography has resulted in an ever growing number of photographers uploading their images for comments and ratings from peers. Online communities evolve and these mini-societies each have their pecking order, internal groups and communal preferences. Photographers learn from each other. Beyond the Obvious: Lessons from the Masters of Photography

In photography, there’s more than technical skill or gear; the real art is in connection, storytelling, and moments that matter. In this blog, I’ll explore what I have learned by taking master classes with photographers like Steve McCurry, Joel Meyerowitz, and Albert Watson. One of the surprising outcomes of learning from them was discovering just how closely my thoughts and practice aligned with theirs although I've always carved my own path. Why do you take photographs?

Have you ever asked yourself why you photograph? It's a question that can be answered with a simple one-sentence answer until you start delving deeper.
